Buying a Miami home remotely: how it works

Many international buyers purchase without visiting first. It is possible, but the process needs careful verification at every step.

Virtual tours and local eyes

Use live video tours and ask your agent for a detailed condition report and photos of common areas. A local inspector can inspect on your behalf.

Signing from abroad

Contracts can be signed electronically. Some closing documents need notarization, which can be done through remote online notarization or at a consulate, depending on the requirements; the closing agent will tell you.

Power of attorney

You can authorize a trusted person to sign for you, but a power of attorney is a serious step. Use an attorney and limit its scope.

Wire fraud

Fraudsters send fake wire instructions. Always confirm the closing agent's bank details by calling a verified phone number before sending money.

Next step

Tell us your timeline and we will outline the plan. Lidiya Tretyak is a licensed Florida real estate agent with Douglas Elliman and speaks English, Russian and Ukrainian; the first consultation is free.
